Jurgen Klopp describes his 11 months at Liverpool




It’s crazy to think that Jurgen Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool for almost one year now.
It was October 8, 2015, when the German arrived on Merseyside and it’s been a whirlwind 11 months for Klopp and Liverpool.
He has already managed over 50 competitive matches for the Reds, guiding them to two cup finals last season - although they lost on both occasions.



And, although he could only guide his side to a disappointing eighth-placed finish last season, he has started to transform fortunes on the pitch.
Klopp’s side will be identifying a top-four finish - if not better - this season as he takes charge of his first full season at the club.



But how does he describe his time at the club so far? Well, there’s three words that sprung to his mind.

Three words

"It's been very interesting. Very challenging. Very emotional," Klopp told Sky Sports.
Klopp almost ended last season in perfect fashion, leading his side to the Europa League final before a 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in Basel. But the passage to the final was certainly exciting.
Liverpool beat Manchester United over two legs before triumphing 4-3 over Dortmund after being 3-1 down at Anfield. Klopp admits that the epic clash against his former club was just one of many emotional moments he’s had at Liverpool so far.

Emotional

"There's already been a lot of emotional games - not just the Dortmund one. I've had emotional moments after big defeats and we've had those too, unfortunately,” he admitted.
"But we have created confidence and we believe in our strengths and that all happened in the last 11 months."
This season, Liverpool have started rather inconsistently having beaten Arsenal and Leicester - scoring eight goals in the process - while losing to Burnley and drawing to Spurs.

Return to Stamford Bridge

Tonight, Klopp returns to the place where he earned his first Premier League win - Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners against Jose Mourinho’s side last season but Klopp is well aware they pose a very different threat this time around.

"Last season Chelsea were quite direct, didn't have much confidence," Klopp said. "They're still an unbelievably physical side but they have a good manager and they've brought in (N'Golo) Kante, one of the best challengers in the league,” he said.
"My job is to create a plan to not let them go through. We never lose a game beforehand; we always think we have a chance."
