Neymar Set to become Barcelona’s Highest Paid Player ahead of Messi

Brazilian soccer player Neymar looks set to become Barcelona’s highest earner when he signs his new contract at the Nou Camp on Friday.

The pay package according to Marca surpasses that of five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.

The report says, the €25m which the 24-year-old Brazilian stands to be paid each season by the Catalan giants is thought to be broken down into €15m of guaranteed money and €10m of performance-related bonuses, putting him a step above Messi’s €22m basic wage.

Neymar will officially sign his new long-term five-year contract at Camp Nou on Friday, securing his future at the club until 2021.
