'Your wife deserves respect not humiliation', Nollywood veteran tells Buhari

Nollywood veteran Hilda Dokubo, has reacted to the comment by President Muhammadu Buhari that his wife, Aisha belongs to the kitchen, the living room and the other room.
Dokubo in her reaction opined that women deserve to be respected, not humiliated.
“My name is Hilda Dokubo and I am a woman. I do not belong to the kitchen, I go to the kitchen to fix food for my family and myself. We eat there sometimes, I don’t belong there,” she said.

 Speaking on the second statement of the President, she said “I do not belong to the bedroom either. I sleep there. It is my rest place. My things are there but I don’t belong there. I do not belong to the sitting room, it’s a lounging place, I rest there and I watch television.”

 From the video she posted on her instagram handle, Hilda further declared that, “I do not belong to the other room, because I don’t know where the other room is in my house, except that this other room sounds like the toilet.I cannot belong to the toilet. I am a woman; I deserve the rights to be a human being and to be respected.”

 It will be recalled that President Buhari made the comment in reaction to the interview BBC granted to his wife where she said , his government had been hijacked and will not vote for him if it continues. 

The Nollywood veteran runs an NGO called CREATE - Centre for Creative Arts Education, aimed at using creative arts to empower young people and women. She was appointed as a Special Adviser to the former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili in 2003
