Toddler falls out of bed and gets electric plug embedded in his SKULL


A young boy had to be rushed to hospital after he fell out of bed and got his head impaled on a plug
A toddler was forced undergo emergency surgery after falling out of bed and impaling his head on a plug.
The two-year-old boy, nicknamed Xiao Tang, burst into tears but remained conscious as he was rushed to hospital following the freak accident.
He is believed to have been playing on the bed with his uncle before tumbling to the floor and landing on the plug, which became buried deep in his skull.

Doctors at a local clinic in the Chinese city of Guangzhou found the Xiao Tang's case to be too complicated to treat, and transferred him to Wujing Hospital.
Scans at the hospital showed the plug - which had two 2cm prongs - was buried deep in the boy's skull and required emergency surgery.

Neurosurgeon Chang Huimin, who praised the boy's parents for not trying to take the plug out, said one of the prongs had also damaged one of Xiao Tang's blood vessels, which would have resulted in excessive bleeding.
During the operation that followed, the doctors cut into the toddler's skull, around the plug, and successfully removed the object before disinfecting his wound.
His skull was replaced and fixed in place, and the boy is now recovering after surgery.
Medics said they did not expect XIao Tang to suffer any long-term effects from his ordeal.
