Atletico Madrid 1-2 Barcelona, as it happened: Lionel Messi's late winner blows title race wide open

Five talking points from the game

Lionel Messi saved Barcelona’s title bid with a late winner against Atletico Madrid in a game his team didn’t deserve to win.
Atletico dominated the opening half-hour, creating chance after chance, but good defending from Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, backed up with great goalkeeping by Marc-Andre ter Stegen, kept them at bay.
Barcelona then began creating some openings of their own, with Luis Suarez having a goal ruled out for handball and then Lionel Messi forcing Jan Oblak into a fine save from his free-kick.
Eventually the deadlock was broke by Rafinha in the 64th minute, prodding home after a scramble in the box, before Diego Godin nodded Atletico level six minutes later.
However Messi popped up in the 86th minute to win the game for Barcelona and send them top of La Liga.
